ANSI/TIA-222-H, Wind load on a monopole with linear attachments
ASMTower automatically creates the wind load on the monopole with ladders and feed-lines attached to it.
According to ANSI/TIA-222-H, when adding linear appurtenances like ladders and feeding lines to the monopole, ASMTower automatically classifies each appurtenance by its place to one of the following:
- Inside the monopole (shaft is shielding the appurtenances)
- Windward zone
- Lateral zone
- Leeward zone
Force coefficients, Cf for monopole with linear attachments
The locations of the windward, lateral, and leeward zones depend on the wind direction under consideration. For each wind direction, ASMTower computes the Rw and RL factors as
- RU is the ratio of the projected areas from the flat appurtenances in the windward zone to the projected area of the monopole.
- RL is the ratio of the projected areas of appurtenances in the lateral zones to the projected area of the monopole.
Once ASMTower computes these factors, it automatically calculates the force coefficient Cf for the monopole according to ANSI/TIA-222-H, Table 2-8a, 2-8b, and Table 2-8c, and calculates the wind load on each appurtenance according to their classifications.
The following chart summarize the procedures that ASMTower use in calculating wind load on monopole with linear attachments according to TIA H
